Will there ever be one? Metal Gear Solid 6? While we haven’t received any official news yet, it’s unlikely that Konami will abandon one of its most popular products.
However, things are not going smoothly for the Metal Gear franchise. After the bad reception of Metal Gear Survive, As the series is known to have originated without series creator Hideo Kojima, fans are excited about the future of the series. Although the coming Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Clearly showing that Konami isn’t done with the tongue-in-cheek franchise, the fact that Hideo Kojima is “not involved” in the new project has done much to fuel fears of the possibility of such a project Metal Gear Solid 6 (via VGS).
Given the resounding success of Metal Gear Solid 5, it would certainly be a waste for Konami to leave a potential sequel off the table. Still, no love seems lost between Kojima and Konami, the author, since he parted ways with the Japanese entertainment company to found his own development studio, Kojima Productions. Ever since parting ways, Kojima’s studio has been making releases Death Strandingwhich, although set in a different setting, has many spiritual parallels to the Metal Gear Solid saga. Once Kojima is done with what’s to come Death Stranding 2, Who knows what the legendary developer might turn his attention to next?

Metal Gear Solid 6 release date and platforms
Metal Gear is currently in a strange limbo, at least as far as the new games in the main series are concerned. Hideo Kojima, who now works in his own studio, has long since severed ties with Konami. However, Konami still owns the rights to the series. So far, Konami has only released one Metal Gear title without Kojima: Metal Gear Survival.
We are currently awaiting the release of Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, which was announced at a PlayStation Showcase event earlier this year. This could be a kind of testing ground for the series and serve to justify a new entry into the series.
We imagine if Metal Gear Solid 6or a new series entry, is on the way, then it will arrive PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series Sand at least PC.

Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake announced
Back in May, a new Metal Gear Solid project was announced at a PlayStation Showcase event. This is a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, and so far we’ve only seen a cinematic teaser trailer. Hopefully more details will follow as there is currently little information on how massive the remake will be at launch. Still, it’s clear that Konami is aiming for a reinterpretation with high production value, perhaps along the lines of Final Fantasy 7 Remake or the Resident Evil 4 reissue.

Return to the sandbox
Ground Zeroes And The phantom pain saw a significant change in the Metal Gear Solid format. In a similar way The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildThe games have taken the essential elements of the Metal Gear series and reimagined them in a sandbox environment.
A game known for closed environments where you had to identify and navigate enemy patrols turned into an open space you could take control of. The change in philosophy has rejuvenated the series and each sequel should continue this, better merging the wealth of changes introduced by Metal Gear Solid 5.
More sci-fi nonsense
As much as I liked it Metal Gear Solid 5I found the trappings of the 1980s a bit limiting, especially compared to the over-the-top bombast of Metal Gear Rising: Revenge. As much as I love the more low-key and historical side of Metal Gear, I know I’m not the only one missing out on the awesome battles involving giant mechs Metal Gear Solid 4. Metal Gear has always been incredibly prescient when looking to the future, and I’d love to see more.
Story
Metal Gear Solid 5 ended with the revelation that you didn’t play as Big Boss, but as a man who was brainwashed and surgically altered to think and look like he was Big Boss. It was a left-hand twist, but one that explains how Snake kills Big Boss twice in the Metal Gear games.
In the first metal gearsSnake kills the doppelganger (aka “Venom” Snake) and in Metal Gear 2 he kills the real big boss.
There are many places Metal Gear Solid 6 could pick up the story, but a likely candidate would be right after the events of 5, either as the Big Boss establishing Outer Heaven, his renegade state, or the Metal Gear walking tank developed – which would give fans a chance to see characters like Gray Fox and Dr. to meet Pettrovich again, albeit from a new perspective; or, Konami could take this as an example Metal Gear Rising: Revengeis the book and focuses on the future of Metal Gear and the long-term consequences of its characters’ actions.
Unanswered questions
While Konami denies this, many people have concerns Metal Gear Solid 5 is unfinished. The game’s final mission, Episode 51, has been literally cut out of the game, leaving little to no solution as far as Eli, the clone of Big Boss. Eventually, he steals a mech from your base and disappears, and you just don’t give chase. While The Phantom Pain Collector’s Edition revealed what would have happened in the abridged mission, it would be awesome to actually be able to play that final role and see Eli, the young soldier, become Liquid Snake, your nemesis Metal Gear Solid 1, 2And 4.
Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami doesn’t have to mean the end of Metal Gear Solid. However, if the publisher wants to continue its most famous series, it has to achieve a lot.
It could be a long time before we hear about the next new Metal Gear Solid main game. In the meantime, here are the The most anticipated games will come in 2023 and beyond!
