A source that speaks to Android authority says the Pixel 8 phones will offer an alternate USB DisplayPort mode. That means the USB-C port on the bottom could be used for video output to a monitor, as well as charging and data transfer.
So what would this functionality be used for? One possibility is that you can bring the Pixel 8 UI to a big screen and use it a little like a desktop computer – and code to support this feature has already been discovered Android 13 And Android 14.
