We have heard several rumours The innovative AI tool ChatGPT will be integrated with the Microsoft Bing search engine in the near future and now we have a leaked preview of how this integration might actually work and appear in your browser.
student and designer Owen Yin (opens in new tab) (above The edge (opens in new tab)) somehow got access to the upcoming upgrade and was able to test it out for a while before being banned. If you’ve used ChatGPT before, the interface will be familiar to you: you’ll get an on-screen prompt to ask for information or help with almost anything you want.
It looks like you have 1,000 characters to work with. An example shown in Yin’s screenshots is searching for arts and crafts ideas for a toddler using certain materials — that’s the type of search query that ChatGPT excels at, and for which you might not necessarily get very helpful results via Google .
Bing with ChatGPT added also tells you where it got its information from: Below the answers you’ll see a list of sources, similar to Wikipedia. That means you can at least check to some extent what ChatGPT says for accuracy.

search and more
The conventional search results will not disappear completely according to this leak. They’ll be available on a separate screen, and you can toggle between an old-fashioned list of blue links and the future of search using the toolbar at the top.
And it really does feel like the default search is really a bit dated now – which is no doubt one of the reasons why Google is about to reveal it its own version of this technology in the coming days. If you’ve recently performed a traditional web search, you know that the results you get back aren’t always that useful.
A more conversational approach, like that offered by ChatGPT, offers much more precision and customization. For example, you can use the AI engine to write a wedding speech or plan a road trip yourself and refine the results in natural language instead of just searching online for speech or itinerary ideas.
Microsoft is reportedly very interested in adding ChatGPT functionality also in his office suite, which helps you compose letters, create PowerPoint slides, and compose emails. In the near future we will all rely a lot more on artificial intelligence.
