Thanks to a recent update, users can now access NordPass Premium on an unlimited number of devices.
As one of our choices for the best password managerthe premium version was previously limited to just six devices, falling short of some competitors who offered unlimited device access from the start.
NordPass justified its decision to TechRadar Pro by saying that users want to break free from being locked into a specific ecosystem, and many have started to reach the six-device limit.
Pushing the limits
The company also told us that it asked some of its customers why they decided to switch to NordPass from using a built-in password manager built into their web browser, like the Google Password Manager in Google Chrome .
A common reason was that such integrated managers usually tie them into a single ecosystem. For example, the Google Password Manager in Google Chrome ensures that your passwords are only accessible via this browser.
However, NordPass is cross-platform and has extensions for multiple browsers, including Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Apple safariOpera and even the privacy-focused Brave.
NordPass added that there has been a trend among users to now install NordPass on both their work and personal devices. This meant many were hitting the six-device limit. Since the company wanted to offer NordPass on any device they wanted, the company has now removed the restriction.
The change is another in a long line of updates the company has been making lately. In May, users added the ability to attach files to items in their vaults. 50 files can be attached to a single item, and the total capacity is 3GB, which is the largest of any password manager available, according to NordPass.
NordPass also now allows users to customize their items by adding their own fields for other credentials, such as a password, in addition to passwords that some services may require. B. Passphrases, PIN numbers, company IDs or telephone numbers. However, this feature is not yet available for iOS devices.
Passkey support for mobile devices will also be coming soon, allowing users to store their credentials in NordPass without a password. Currently this is only available in the NordPass desktop apps, browser extensions and website.
