Cherelle Griner, wife of Brittney Griner, expressed her “sincere gratitude” to President Biden and other administration officials, including Vice President Harris and National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan, while speaking at the White House after Biden announced the WNBA’s release from Russia Star.

Cherelle Griner said that while Thursday is a holiday for her, she and Brittney Griner would like to see other incarcerated Americans return.

“BG is not here to say this, but I will be happy to speak on their behalf and say that BG and I will remain committed to bringing every American home, including Paul [Whelan], whose family is in our hearts today. … We understand that there are still people out here who are enduring what I have had to endure over the past nine months of missing their loved ones tremendously.”
